Serio’s was originally established in November of 1943 by Salvo Serio, whose family came to America from Cefalu, Sicily. Salvo was the great-uncle of the current proprietors of Serio’s.The original restaurant was located at the corner of Mississippi Ave. and Alabama St.and was renowned for its great Italian food and steaks. While Serio’s had a brisk curb service business, which was common in Greenwood in that era, enjoying authentic Italian dishes or a steak dinner inside the tiny original restaurant was a well-kept secret among Serio’s close-knit clientele. Salvo operated Serio’s continuously for over 30 years until he retired in the 1970s.

Today’s Serio’s is a re-creation of the original but is located in a larger and more modern building that includes a fireside dining room, numerous enclosed private dining booths, a full- service bar and patio dining with a bocce ball court. In addition to its classic Italian cuisine, Serio’s has become known for its delicious steaks and has transitioned to become Serio’s Italian Steakhouse, a traditional Italian restaurant offering a wide selection of steaks using Certified Angus Beef exclusively. In addition to steaks and Italian cuisine, Serio’s extensive menu offers something for everyone.

Serio’s private dining room is available for groups, meetings and parties. Serio’s no longer has curb service but has a convenient drive-through window, as well as delivery. Whether it’s steak, Italian, seafood or pizza, dine-in or take-out, we look forward to serving you at Serio’s.
